Ride Land, Sand and Sea
The west coast of Portugal reveals its great lose sight beaches and the small and welcoming fishermen villages, joining the multiple facets of the portuguese plain: pine and eucalyptus woods crossed by fine sand trails, where the sun and the Atlantic Ocean are a constant.
The nature, together with the fascination of horses, is the perfect combination to offer to all the equestrian art lovers an amazing experience of paths between land, sand and sea ... in harmony to the local and gastronomic tourism, allowing the contact with the culture and the people of the country.
The equestrian tours offer horseback riding at the great beaches of the Atlantic coast and long rides through a magnificent landscape of pine forests, typical of the central Portugal.

Day 1 - Saturday:
Arrival to Lisbon.
Reception at the airport.
Dinner will be at one of the typical Fado restaurants in Lisbon.
Presentation of the tour, the team and its participants, while tasting the traditional portuguese cuisine, and listening to Fado. Transport to the accommodation near the sea.

Day 2 - Sunday:
After breakfast, first contact with the horses and we will start the first day of horse ride.
In a good lope, we are going through the Pine Forest of Leiria. Picnic served up in a reserved area of the woods. Return to the lodge, for dinner will be at a restaurant in the Paredes beach.

Day 3 - Monday:
The course of this journey takes us along the Atlantic coast, with stages along the beach, towards Nazaré, a touristic fishing village. We arrive to the panoramic viewpoint, Sítio, at 110 meters of altitude, where we can enjoy one the most beautiful seas view of Portugal. Lunch at North Beach, the famous beach where the well-known surfer Garrett McNamara surfed a wave of 23.77 meters, achieving the world record. The afternoon will be an opportunity to visit the village of Nazaré, their touristic interests and to swim in the sea (for those who wish it). The night’s lodging will be at the camping in Nazaré.

Day 4 - Tuesday:
We will departure from Nazaré camping through the forest to reach the Légua beach. There we will end up the morning with lunch in a local restaurant to enjoy a variety of typical seafood of this region. Return to Paredes beach, route that we can alternate between beach and forest.

Day 5 - Wednesday:
After an invigorating breakfast, we will depart for a sports morning in the forest. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon we will leave by car towards Leiria to visit the city and its medieval castle. Built with a dominate position above the population and the river Lis, the castle is one of the "ex-libris" of the city. From the top of the castle we can see the urban area of the city and its rural periphery. Dinner and evening will be in town.

Day 8 - Saturday:
Departure and transfer to the Lisbon airport. We hope to see you soon.

Day 6 - Thursday:
This morning we will leave on horseback ride heading to north towards S. Pedro de Moel, between forest and beach. As interest points there is "Penedo da Saudade", steep cliff, next to the Penedo da Saudade Lighthouse. In this area there are very nice picnic parks, were we will have a picnic. Following the coast, after S. Pedro de Moel, there is the Old Beach, beach with large sand extension, where we can enjoy amazing gallops. After this long ride, we will continue towards the lodge.

Day 7- Friday:
On this last day of horse riding, we cross the pine to reach Pataias Lagoon, placed in the middle of this vast area of maritime pine that fill this region of the Portuguese coast, enjoying the diversity of birds, storks and egrets settled down here. After a quiet picnic, we take the road to the lodge for the last night of party, fun and farewell.

Information:
The Horses:
The horses at your service are Lusitanian Thoroughbred, from the Stud Farm of Santo António, breeders of Lusitanian Purebred, as well as some of the horses of Quinta do Facho. Our horses are easy to ride, affable and are perfectly prepared and trained.
Saddles:
Quality saddles of Portuguese and English style.
Equestrian Level:
This horse ride is not intended for beginners. The Quinta do Facho accepts riders practicing riding regularly, and the riders must know how to control their horses in every situation.
The Group:
Minimum: 4 persons – Maximum: 8 persons
In order to achieve a successful horse ride and it doesn't become too slow, the groups are limited to 8 people, so we can have a group cohesion and interaction between the riders.
Language:
English / French
Each group is followed by an equestrian guide, responsible for the proper course of the tours. By his experience, the guide may advise the participants the horse that best fits, after a few minutes of dialogue.
Accommodation:
The Accommodation is in seaside apartments, except the camping night. This way, it allows the participants to remain in the same place, avoiding having to pack and unpack every day.
The tour is planned in full pension and meals vary between picnic, meals at the lodge and at the restaurant, so the participants can taste the variety of the traditional cuisine of the region.
Arrival and Departure:
Transport to and from the Lisbon airport.
Quinta do Facho provides transport from the Lisbon airport to the accommodation as well as for the several destinations foreseen in the Tour program.
